When hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, 215 People's Alliance responded to growing community needs with a food security and employment survival collaborative, the People’s Kitchen.  Co-created with El Compadre restaurant, managed by the chef-activists of South Philly Barbacoa, the People’s Kitchen fights for every household to have access to jobs and nutritious, locally-grown food.

Our goal is to meet the current and real need of Philadelphians by distributing 215 free meals per day, while also working against the root issues of food insecurity and the larger systemic issues that prevent households from well-being and the ability to sustain themselves.

As the pandemic and economic impacts continue to linger, we need your help to continue to provide meals to vulnerable households during and after the emergency response. Become a sustaining donor today!

The first 50 people to become a sustainer can pick up a free tote bag from the People’s Kitchen!
